Beresford is a beautiful town that stretches along the Chaleur Bay and offers a fantastic variety of summer activities. Whether it's at the beach, camping, enjoying live music at a festival or fresh produce at the farmers market, you'll find no shortage of fun in this vibrant northern New Brunswick community.
Here are 6 of our favourite things to do in Beresford this summer!
Let's face it: summer is simply better at the beach. Pack your beach bag with all the essentials -- don't forget the sunscreen of course -- and spend some quality time with your toes in the sand while enjoying one of the most beautiful bays in the world. If you're up for an adventure, you can rent paddleboards, kayaks, and fat bikes! This year, the town of Beresford is offering an adapted beach wheelchair for those with reduced mobility to access the water! Before you go, don't forget to hit up the Beach Canteen for a cold treat – they always open at noon.
Open every Saturday morning from mid-June to the end of September, l'Écomarché Régional de Beresford is the beloved local Farmer's Market initiative where you'll find local and seasonal products from producers and artisans of the Chaleur region. Fill up your picnic basket in the morning with local vegetables, sausages, honey, bread, jam, and then go off on your adventure!
Camping Malybel isn't "just" a full-service campground with 240+ sites for travel trailers, tent trailers, tents and RVs -- and even a mini-golf -- it's also where you can cool down on a hot day in their huge waterslide! While they have special rates for campers, 2 hours & day passes are available and affordable -- fun for the whole family!
Of course, you can have fresh lobster at one of the Chaleur Region's many amazing restaurants -- and you definitely should not miss out on a delicious lobster roll while you're here -- but everybody in the Chaleur region will tell you: if you're looking to eat lobster #ChaleurStyle, you NEED to go to a local fish shop. Fish on Wheels, located at 946 rue Principale, is a local's favourite. Be sure to book a lobster feast on your summer calendar!
If you thought the beach was already good for the soul, wait until you've done beach yoga! In partnership with Pure Balance Yoga, starting June 18th, Beresford will host a weekly FREE beach yoga session every Tuesday at 6:00 pm. Bring your yoga mat (or a large beach towel) and your smile. Namaste!

Calling all kayak and canoe enthusiasts! The launch jetty installed on rue du Parc Est in Beresford is where you'll want to go this summer. Enjoy the spectacular marshes and explore them at your own pace... but please leave them cleaner than you found them! Note: it's advised to venture on the water between 3 hours before and 3 hours later than the highest tide to avoid being surprised by the low tides.

Of course, part of the beauty of the Chaleur region is the close proximity between each town and city. If you're looking for activities within a short distance from Beresford, you may want to take a look at our other Summer 2021 suggestions:
