Discover this unique recreation and tourism site located in the village of Pointe-Verte, in northeastern New Brunswick. It offers a magnificent lake perfect for fishing, diving and other activities. In addition, it is surrounded by trails and a beautiful forest.
The Park and Lake:
Atlas Park is located in the Village of Pointe-Verte, near the Bay of Chaleur, and is built around a flooded rock quarry that was formed slowly from an underground water source, which is now being used as a recreational area for several activities all year round.
The lake is very deep (87 feet) with limpid waters, and unlike other lakes and rivers it doesn’t have water currents. This controlled environment makes it an ideal SCUBA diving facility for training and classes of all levels. It is the only PADI Recreational Dive Facility in Atlantic Canada!
The park is open 365 days a year with activities for all seasons, including fishing for the Artic Char during summer and ice fishing in winter, kayaking, rowboats, pedal-boats, and much more. It is home to 4 beautiful walking trails available all year round, and the national bird of New Brunswick can be seen here!
